OR

• Visit minecraft.net

• Hover over “games” at the top of the screen and click on “Minecraft” (on the left)

• A new page will open. Click on “Get MInecraft” at the top of the screen

• Select “Computer” (on left)

• Select PC, MAC or Linux

• The page prompts you to select your edition. Select “MInecraft Java Edition”

• A new page opens. If you haven’t purchased Minecraft yet click on the big, green “Buy Minecraft” button. If you HAVE purchased it already/in the past, click on “Download it again” to the right of this instead

• Input purchase information

• Click on Download button in centre of the window

• Click on the file that downloaded (on bottom left of the screen)

Type in “Minecraft” in your search bar. Click on “Minecraft Launcher”.

Alternatively, there is likely a shortcut on your desktop or search for “Minecraft Launcher”.

• Server Address is sent via email.

• Open Minecraft Java Edition

• Click on Multiplayer

• Click on Direct Connection

• Insert address

• Done!

Move: AWSD

W = forward

A = left

D = right

S = backwards

Jump: space

Fly: double tap space bar

Crouch: left shift

Sprint: hold ctrl

Fly: double jump (hit space twice quickly)

Go up when flying: hold space

Go down when flying: hold left shift

Teleport: /TP

Put a space after “TP” and then put X Y and Z coordinates with spaces between them

Ex. /TP 100 222 333 (would teleport you to location XYZ = 100, 222, 333)

Hit “T”

• This allows you to type in anything and people on the server will see it in the chat!

• To get out of chat window hit escape

• To re-open chat window hit “T”

If you aren’t able to fly (ie. aren’t in creative mode) let us know in the Discord chat or Minecraft server chat and we’ll help you fix it! (gamemode creative)

To create a block

• Right click: Select your material (see below for how to do this) and right click

To destroy a block

• Left click: Hover over the block you want to delete… left click. (note the block you have targeted will outline in black)

Map materials

• Press E to bring up creative menu (list of all materials)

• Left click on material, drag mouse to bottom row (empty boxes) and hover over an empty box… left click to drop/map (note: these boxes are numbered from left to right - 1,2,3,4…- corresponding with the number buttons on your keyboard)

• To close the creative menu hit Esc

Unmap material from inventory

• Press E

• To remove a material, left click on it in the bottom row (your inventory), drag it over the materials list and right click

• To close the creative menu hit Esc

To rotate through materials/select a different material

• Spin the wheel on your mouse OR hit the corresponding number (ie. first box in your inventory is 1)

To throw a block: hit “Q”

To “dual wield” hit “F”

NPC = non-player character

• Left-click on them while you have some item selected (can be a sword, a block, whatever!). Generally, we don’t condone killing however if there is some NPC or animal or such in the middle of your building/project and you want to get rid of them… this is how

Note: You are unable to kill other players (nor should you!)

• General info: Hit F3

  This will show your current XYZ coordinates (on left) - useful for teleporting!

• Hide all: F1

• Screenshot: F2

• Change POV/perspective (from first person to third person, etc.): F5

• Swap between fullscreen and windowed mode: F11
